A blog about what daily life was really like in the Middle East and the daily ramblings of an ex-pat mum. That's how I started the blog. We are now home, so I'm just going to continue with life here. I am a deeply committed Christian. I love to teach about and share my faith so you'll see some of that on the blog as well. Got a comment? Please feel to comment at the end of a post. Busy Day Today

Well, today was busy, but it was an awesome day. The munchkins are now back in full student mode. Munchkin #1 made a friend last week at 'kid care' while I was working. That new friend is in his same class. Munchkin #1 is very excited about that. Munchkin #2 also had a great day. I thought this pic/snap of the Burj al Arab Hotel was fun. It boasts that it is a 7 star hotel. Just to go in and walk around/tour the place is 60 AED per person or around $17 U.S. It is truly a stunning building. I pass by this way quite often. The road I was on to take this picture is one to be avoided at certain times of the day - traffic will sit at a standstill. Thus, I was able to get this picture from my vehicle of choice. It is 'fascinating' that the same city which has a 7 star hotel, has working men who earn 750 AED/month which is about $210 U.S. Dubai is an extremely diverse place - socially and economically.
