A blog about what daily life was really like in the Middle East and the daily ramblings of an ex-pat mum. That's how I started the blog. We are now home, so I'm just going to continue with life here. I am a deeply committed Christian. I love to teach about and share my faith so you'll see some of that on the blog as well. Got a comment? Please feel to comment at the end of a post. Sad Day

This is my poochie dog back in the 'home country.' My family is taking care of her for us. I REALLY miss her. Munchkin #1's gerbil, Blackie, died last night. He was an old gerbil, about 3 years. He lived a long and happy 'tube filled' life. The little fuzzy black critter will be missed.

It's hard giving one's heart to furry critters. They just don't live long enough. But, we can love them while we have them. Living where I am, it is hard to have pets. This place just doesn't seem as 'pet friendly' as other places.

Wow, looking at this picture, I almost can't believe how green that grass looks. I have not seen really green grass now for over 4 months. Which, I guess, really isn't that long - but it feels like an eternity. Boy, am I homesick. My oh my, I miss my family and my dog. The fact that the husband is traveling on business doesn't help. And, he's out of cell phone range. Sigh...sad day. I need to go get a cup of herb tea. Ah well. At least there were smiles at work today. And, my Monday meeting was canceled. And.....I leave for Norway in 4 days. "Always look on the bright side of life" - Monty Python.
