A blog about what daily life was really like in the Middle East and the daily ramblings of an ex-pat mum. That's how I started the blog. We are now home, so I'm just going to continue with life here. I am a deeply committed Christian. I love to teach about and share my faith so you'll see some of that on the blog as well. Got a comment? Please feel to comment at the end of a post. May our Creator's peace be upon you.

Accept the Cookie!!!!!!

Today's forecasted high: 99F
Current actual outside temp: 106F

This is a totally random snap; just a bit of bunny mayhem for you to enjoy. Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs anyone? Yummy....

I just added a counter to the blog. It counts the number of hits this blog gets, but you have to 'accept' the cookie. I'm not tracking personal info or anything bad!!!! I'm just curious how often this bit of my work is actually read by people other than me.

For many and various reasons, the munchkins and I are planning to head for the home country earlier than planned (en shallah). We'll see if all the details can be worked out. When people start acting weird, it's time to head for familiar territory. Not to mention, my father has extra paperwork he needs my help with, the husband's maternal grandmother is getting ready to pass into the next life, and a slightly longer summer holiday won't kill us. AND, I believe there are some rabid grandmas ready to see some grandmunchkins! AND, it's already getting super duper hot here. So, many good reasons to head out a tad early. Not to mention, I'm SO looking forward to truly familiar favorite foods, my stupid big bathtub, and seeing friends and family. And don't worry, I don't plan on bringing anyone 'Piggy Flu'!

Changing the subject....

I'm excited that I have a bit of extra volunteering on my plate. I'm going to be sitting on a council here in the middle east. I think, it's a 'job' nobody else really wanted. But for me, it relates to my true calling in life. My father just laughed and proclaimed, "Fresh meat for the grinder!" Those of you who know my background prior to moving outside the home country will get the joke. They rest of you might not. Email me if you're curious.

As per normal, I'm amazed at the press. The international press seems to be going crazy, the comment posts on newspapers back home are crazy, and the press here is, well, it's obvious that speech ain't free (money, yeah! I'm talking about money! Maybe...) Just please stay sane and keep it in perspective. Of course, I'm one to talk.....I LOVE HYPE!!!!!!! I'm reading about 6 newspapers a day. I feel like I'm a living 'Bloom County' creation!!!!! I so miss Opus.
Keep it in perspective and be greatful for what you have and where you live.
Peace.
