A blog about what daily life was really like in the Middle East and the daily ramblings of an ex-pat mum. That's how I started the blog. We are now home, so I'm just going to continue with life here. I am a deeply committed Christian. I love to teach about and share my faith so you'll see some of that on the blog as well. Got a comment? Please feel to comment at the end of a post. Family Time

We have family enroute! It is always nice getting visitors here. I hear so many women complain and grump about having company. Yes, it is work - especially if you don't enjoy the individuals who are visiting. But....if you do....then it is great fun.

We've been here for almost 5 years now. I have many days I forget why on in the world we left our comfortable life in the home country to move here. But, when we get to host family, it is an instant reminder of what is so very cool about being here. Ok. Here's a list I've come up with of some of the cool stuff about living in the region.

10. Camels walking/doing camel things on the road side
9. Moutabel and filafal (eat together)
8. Mountains
7. Owning 2 4X4 vehicles
6. seeing my kids growing up with a deep understanding of more than one culture and seeing them learning Arabic
5. strolling through old parts of town hunting for great fabric
4. drinking lots and lots of coffee
3. making new friends all the time
2. using my skills/education helping others in an area that feels like I'm living in a National Geographic magazine article
1. snorkeling with sea turtles

My guest room and bath are ready. I can't begin to explain how much fun I've had fixing up my guest room. I wanted it to look just like 'the home country'. It is the only room in my villa that does. I hope the family coming enjoy it.

Peace.
