Well, here I sit. I'm watching TV while the kitchen floor dries after mopping. I scrubbed the master bathroom today and finally got the jets on the garden tub working again. I was finally able to flush the jets with cold bleachy water (don't know if that's a good idea, but they are much cleaner). The orange/brown junk that came out of those jets was disgusting. Doesn't this all sound so very exciting?
In the meantime, the husband is back in the middle east doing the final close out on our villa. I'm so glad we rented rather than buying. Anyhow.....he's been able to sell the vehicles and sell or give away the big appliances.
In the middle of selling/giving away stuff, he was able to chat with a man we've been acquainted with for a number of years now but just never really got the chance to know well. This is a man who has a good job, but doesn't make much. Maybe a couple thousand dollars a month at most. He had to take out a personal loan to pay for major surgery to correct a birth defect in his child. No, he didn't ask for or expect money. He was just sharing his story. The surgery was about $8000. While that is very cheap compared to the States, for many people this would be impossible.
The husband and I have been fretting a bit about paying for all that we need to pay for completing the repatriation process. Hearing a story like this from another person just helps put it all in perspective.
Which brings me back to my floor cleaning. I'm doing so much cleaning because I'm not employed at the moment. I'm not even doing any volunteering. It feels strange to just be holding still. But, I can not complain. As I sit here looking at this house that I love, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I am far too blessed for words.
So, as I look at the rain, I wonder what the future holds. But first, I need our container of stuff to get here. Then, who knows what's next.
Peace.
